Who We Are
Barber Maritime is a limited company directed by Captain Steve Barber, who has 42 years’ experience in the oil, gas and chemical downstream side of the maritime industry. In addition to sailing on all types of oil and gas carriers, Steve is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
For 7 years, Steve was the Global Manager of Shell’s vessel quality assurance (vetting) team and managed the development of a berth-to-berth quality assurance system. During this period, Steve was the Chair of the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) Ship Inspection Report Exchange (SIRE) Focus Group.
